Shalayne Davis practices in the areas of estate administration, estate planning, tax preparation, and philanthropic gift planning. She helps clients create comprehensive estate plans, navigate complex tax and estate matters, and develop charitable giving strategies. Shalayne has advised clients and their advisors on creating philanthropic giving strategies and family legacies while educating clients on tax and legal updates.
Shalayne earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was inducted into the International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi and received the Carrico Pro Bono Certificate for over 120 hours of pro bono service.
She attended Brigham Young University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in German and earned numerous honors. During her undergraduate studies, Shalayne studied abroad at the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies and took an eighteen-month leave to serve a church service mission in Germany. She also holds a Master of Education in Learning and Technology which enhances her ability to simplify complex legal and financial concepts for her clients.
Prior to her legal career she worked with small businesses to develop company-wide accounting systems and policies, manage financial strategies, and create employee handbooks. This experience provides a solid foundation for her work in estate planning and business succession.
In addition to her legal accomplishments, Shalayne is a licensed teacher with experience as a team lead for a pilot cohort program and as a member of a Finance Innovation Team. She is fluent in German and conversational in American Sign Language.
Shalayne is active in her community and church, where she has served as a youth summer camp coordinator and counselor. In her free time, she enjoys ice skating, playing the piano, creating art, studying history, and reading.”
